Humans have before also think and dreamt of invading or living on other celestial objects like other than mars, humans are also dreaming of living on the saturn's biggest moon, titan(half of the diameter of our planet earth). The titan contains nitrogen and methane and once consider to be a planet where humans can live. But as you know titan does not have everything needed for the survival of humans. Elon musk's dream planet is also considered as a planet where the mankind can reside.
The outer surface of the planet mars is made up of iron oxide(therefore it's looks red when we see it's pictures). There are some plans for settling down on the mars and as elon musk in one of it's speech in 2020, cleared it out and also shared the timeline of when and how humans will reach and reside there. According to him the first population of humans will reach mars around 2026 and till the year 2050 there will be almost 1 million people on the mars.
According to scientists, the mars was once known to have as much as water present on our own planet earth. Mars also had plenty of water enough of oceans on the red planet. But as the planet did not have any magnetosphere(which protects our planet from solar winds) like our planet. So it will be tough for us humans to survive there.
Other than titan(moon of saturn) and mars, another planet was discovered in the year 2015, the kepler-452b which is almost 1.402 light years away from our planet. The experts have said that kepler-452b is neither too hot nor too cold and yes life can take place on kepler. Like earth, kepler have a thick layer of atmosphere but it is not yet known that which are major gases on the planet, chances are less it is nitrogen or oxygen.
The planet does not have any moon of its own and it got it's name from the name from german astronomer, johannes kepler. But the problem is that the planet is about 1402 light years away which means the fastest of the aircraft available to us will take close to 26 million years i know it is less(just kidding) so the very thought of settling or reaching that planet should not be think twice because in simple word it is impossible to reach that planet anyway.
So, the answer to the question that what will happen if we find new planet to live is that we know humans by very nature is destructive and even if he will find another planet he will try to use the resources present on that planet without even thinking twice how it will going to harm the species on that planet or how will it affect the environment.
