10 Most Important Scientific discoveries of all time

By Umang Rajpurohit

Without the discoveries the world would not look like what we are seeing today. Scientists and Discovers have given their whole life to build something, invent something. After puting their heart and soul into the thing made them the master of their field. So we will talk about some of the biggest discoveries of all time.

1. Radioactivity

Marie curie was a polish born physicist and chemist(the first woman to win a nobel prize and the only person to receive a nobel prize in two different sciences). In 1911, she received nobel prize in chemistry for discovery and isolation of the radium and polonium elements. Marrie curie died from aplastic anemia contracted from her long term exposure to radiation.

2. Gravity

Everyone remember the story of newton and the apple. May be that was just story made for making people feel good. The concept of the gravity existed since the universe began but our understanding of it was solidified into a physical law.

3. Computer Science

Computer science was discovered by Alan Turing. It a study of computers and computing. Alan Turing was instrumental in deciphering the german Enigma code but, he did a lot more than in the field of computer science. He created the first working design for a stored program computer system.

4. Pasteurization

I am pretty sure you may have ever drink milk but do you ever asked the question that why is it called pasteurized. It is because of louis pasteur, he discovered that heating up certain foods and drinks, destroyed most of the bad bacteria that caused spoilage. He also discovered the cause spoilage. He also discovered the cause of fermentaion which opened the door for all those different tasty wines and microbrews because people realized different microorganisms cause different end products during the fermentation process.

5. DNA

Since, 1869 physicists believed that giant hereditary molecule existed it wasn't until  1953 that James Watson and Francis Crick gave us the first correct model of DNA structure this opened the gates and minds to such things as genetic engineering in terms of evolution profiling bioinformation and nano technology also we might get a real life jurassic park someday.

6. Theory of Relativity

There might never be enough said about the extraordinary mind of Albert Einstein he created a whole new way of looking at our world and his most famous equation is E = mc², which means that the energy equals mass multiplied by the square of the speed of light in simple words tiny amounts of mass can hold insane amounts of energy.

 7. AC Current

The A.C current flows in the direction of electrons and alternate at regular pattern.

Did you know? Tesla worked for Thomas Edison at one point he even redesigned the direct current electric generators that were supposed to be the best in the world he completed all his work and after a dispure over payment. Tesla left Edison's company on bad terms. Two investors from New york give him money capital at that point the real war of currents started it was edison's direct current versus Tesla's alternating current needless to say tesla won.

8. Modern Anatomy

Anatomy is the study of the formation and structure of the Human body. Anatomy came from a greek word 'anatome' meaning cutting up. The history of Anatomy goes back to greeks and romans, Hippocrate brought the knowledge of medicine, he was practitioner, medicine specialist and given the knowledge of medicine to the world. Andreas Vesalius is the father of modern Anatomy. He wrote the most famous anatomy book named 'fabricia' and this book was a great step towards understanding anatomy.

9. Atomic Theory

The ancient greeks theorized that all matter can be divided into smaller and smaller units until such a point that there would only be tiny particles left that could not be divided any further this was the first theory of atom. John Dalton put one of the great efforts in giving knowledge and understanding atoms. Later, Thompson discovered the existence of electrons and after than many discoveries took place in relations to atoms.

10. Evolution

The theory of evolution does not identify precisely how the life on the earth but it helps us accept and understand that how life once it came into extant. Assorted into the various unbelievable forms that we observe now and in the fossil documents and records. It also helps us observe the way in which present-time creatures carry on to alter and exchange today.
